Perry Returning to 'The West Wing' "Friends" star Matthew Perry will reprise his Emmy-nominated guest role on "The West Wing" next month.Perry will return to the White House drama for one episode during November sweeps, again playing Joe Quincy, a Republican lawyer who has a job in the Bartlet administration. He appeared on the show twice last season.In the episode, titled "Separation of Powers," Toby (Richard Schiff) asks Quincy to speak to the ailing chief justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, for whom Quincy worked as a clerk. Toby wants Quincy to convince the justice to retire, opening up a spot on the court for a Bartlet appointment.The episode will shoot later this month; Perry will work around his "Friends" schedule. Both shows are produced by Warner Bros. and film on the studio's vast Burbank lot.Perry's portrayal of Quincy earned him an Emmy nomination this year for outstanding guest actor in a drama. (Charles S. Dutton won the award for his work on "Without a Trace.") He was nominated last year for outstanding lead actor in a comedy on "Friends."
